The Ferris Wheel in Carolina Beach is a beacon for folks who are out having a good time in CB. Along with the other traditional carnival style rides that arrive on the Boardwalk every summer, it serves as a nostalgic symbol of what a beach vacation should be about. Located just a few hundred yards from the shoreline, the view from the top of the wheel allows one to take in everything that has attracted visitors and locals to CB for decades - the Boardwalk, the various restaurants and bars that are in the heart of Carolina Beach and the ocean itself. After taking several shots of the wheel in a more conventional pose, I looked up at the side view and was instantly drawn to the shape/design that was presented by this angle.
